Ecelectic - Preppy

There is something so fresh and chic when these two extremely different styles marry, creating a space that is very classic yet youthful and new. This is why, even if it had been published many moons ago, I still find myself looking back at photos of Manhattanite Claiborne Swanson Frank's very polished New York City apartment. As seen in these photos from elledecor.com, the lauded photographer's pad is the perfect mix of swanky upper east side sophistication and downtown's bohemian vibe.

Notice how the punch of juicy accent colors are anchored by the neutral walls and the nonchalant large pieces of furniture. Whoever thought throwing in modern ikat designs with very traditional animal prints would actually produce such a contemporary result?

I also love how she combines the use of streamlined modern pieces, such as the lucite coffee table with very traditional pieces like the half round console table on the left-hand corner. There are definitely great tips to pick up on in this room.

Another thing that strikes me from this splendid space is how the bright photographs as well as this painting by Russell Christoffersen pop out against the colorless walls.
